Birds of conservation concern spotted in Carrington Moss
A number of different bird species have been spotted in Carrington Moss over the last 30 days. Several of these have been red or amber-listed as Birds of Conservation Concern. Red is the highest conservation priority because these species have declined rapidly in recent years, are at risk of extinction globally or populations are historically low.
Redwing are a red-listed species because of recent population decline but 50 were spotted on Carrington Moss on 28 October. Lots of amber listed Black-headed Gulls and Whooper Swans have been sighted recently too.
